Staff concerned about impending sale of Paradise Island resort

The impending sale of an all-inclusive resort has put the future of its staff in peril.
According to a source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, staff of The Paradise Island Harbour Resort (PIHR) are afraid that they will not receive redundancy payments in a timely fashion like the workers at the Royal Oasis Hotel in Freeport, Grand Bahama.
According to the source and the PIHR website, the resort is managed by Driftwood Hospitality Management, the former owners and operators of the Royal Oasis. The government had to step in and provide the severance payments after Driftwood failed to honor its commitments to Royal Oasis staff.
