Bahamian Brewery and Beverage Company employees have something to toast to as the Grand Bahama-based brewing facility is featured in the May issue of Southern Boating magazine, now on newsstands.

This month's edition is referred to as the "Bahamas Special Issue", where all of the featured articles have a Bahamian focus. Southern Boating is the largest boating magazine in the southeastern United States and has been around for over 38 years. It has a reader base of over 150,000 and 47,000 annual subscribers.

James "Jimmy" Sands, CEO of Bahamian Brewery and Beverage says being mentioned in Southern Boating is an honor.

"We are very proud to be featured in Southern Boating," Sands said. "It's great to see all our hard work being appreciated by our neighbors, I'm an extremely proud Bahamian today."

The featured article on the brewery is called "Tapping an Idea", where Sands describes his family's history in the wine and spirits business and explains his passion for brewing a Bahamian beer. The story was written by the editor of Southern Boating Marilyn Mower, who admits she had a mild fascination with Sands and his brewery.

"We chose Jimmy and his brewery because of our keen interest in Grand Bahama and because of his well known entrepreneurship for Bahamians," Mower said. "I found myself talking to a passionate brewer who is so very proud to be Bahamian."
