Ministry of Environment on a Tree Planting Mission

Mon, Nov 27th 2017, 01:23 PM

The Ministry of The Environment & Housing is launching a tree-planting drive, with the mission to plant numerous trees before the close of 2017. The Lignum Vitae, the Bahamian National tree, pictured, was planted November 18, 2017 at Commonwealth Brewery on Western Road.

The Ministry’s partners, Commonwealth Brewery and The Rotary Club of West Nassau, are supporters of the Ministry’s drive and its aim to promote Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) among local corporate citizens.

The Ministry of the Environment's Department of Forestry encourages the public to share in its tree planting initiative as an educational venture in appreciation of the importance of enhancing and protecting our environment.
