Less than one month after Sunryse Information Management held its 10th Annual Shred Day event, the document Management company along with corporate partners RBC Royal Bank donated approximately $4,500 to the Sister Sister Breast Cancer Support Group.

Prior to Shred Day 2017, the company launched a campaign encouraging the public to collect personal documents to be shredded free of charge with Sunryse committing to donating $1 for every 10lbs of shredded paper to Sister Sister. Event cosponsor RBC Royal Bank agreed to match Sunryse’s donation up to $1000.

Using its mobile destruction vehicles complete with CCTV for participants to view the shredding process, Sunryse securely shredded a total of 6,300 lbs of confidential documents at the Western Esplanade.

The community initiative is geared towards educating the public on the importance of properly disposing of confidential files while supporting a worthy cause.

To date, an estimated 56,000 lbs of confidential records have been shredded and more than $20,000 funds have been donated to local non-profit organizations thanks to Shred Day. Additional event sponsors included Starbucks Bahamas and Limeade.
