Ambiance is everything. In fact, the right ambiance can set the stage for some of life’s most memorable experiences.

No one understands this quite like the restaurateurs at Pelican Bay, and they continue to find ways to offer bigger and better dining experiences for their guests.

With a well-established reputation as Grand Bahama Island’s happiest hotel, foodies from around the island and the world have found their happy place at Sabor.

Now, the restaurant has upped the ante on premier dining experiences, offering a private water-side dining experience for intimate romantic dinners, small weddings or even brunches with your favorite people for just ten dollars per person.

The brainchild of Sabor’s head Chef Emmanuel Smith, the floating dock began as a literal marina providing boaters with a safe place to park their vessels and visit the restaurant for dinner.

“The idea was really born out of a ‘if you build it they will come’ kind of moment” he explained.

“I was looking outside the window of the kitchen and got this crazy idea to put a table there for people to dine and the response was immediate”.

The growth and popularity of the dock was temporarily halted by Mother Nature when hurricane Matthew blew through Grand Bahama and the dock was nearly destroyed.

As repairs got underway however, the property’s owners used the opportunity to expand and upgrade the popular seating area.

Now, the ‘Aquarium Dock’ which could initially sit two persons at a time can now seat as many as twenty-five guests and boasts a beautiful gazebo, lounge area and fire pit!

“The response to the upgraded dock has really been amazing” Smith explained.

“The dock is open for lunch and dinner and we’ve had great feedback from our customers, but we’ve also held birthday parties, brunches, bachelorette parties and we even have a small destination wedding booked for later in the year.”

In addition to its new dining spaces fans of Sabor’s delectable menu can look forward to some new flavors to its already expansive menu just in time for the busy holiday season.

“I’m already thinking of some amazing things for our Christmas Menu this year,” stated Chef Manny. “And we’ve already started crafting elements for our annual New Year’s concept - which is always a sold out event.”

To reserve the ‘Aquamarine Dock’ interested persons should call the restaurant at 242-373-5588 or like Sabor on Facebook and Instagram. “We’re very excited about the possibilities this new expansion brings,” exclaimed Chef Manny. “We know our customers will really appreciate the efforts we go to, to ensure they can find their happy”.
