GENERAL SITUATION: A weakening ridge of high pressure will sink southward as upper level troughing over the NW Bahamas gradually dissipates through Friday. By Sunday deep troughing and frontal boundary over the Carolina’s and North Florida will bring a surge of moisture and unsettled weather across the Bahamas through early next week. Deep trough will gradually shift into the Central Gulf of Mexico through Wednesday as a dominant high pressure ridge remains over the Bahamas.

Thursday 27th – Partly to mostly sunny, hot and humid with the chance of few scattered showers or possible isolated thunderstorms mainly across the NW Bahamas during the day. Mainly fair and warm with the chance of passing showers through nighttime. Maximum temperature 92ºF and minimum temperature 81ºF. Winds E to SE at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas, falling light and variable at times and E’ly at 12 to 18 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas decreasing to 10 to 15 knots later. Seas 2 to 4 feet in the NW Bahamas and 3 to 5 feet in the Central and SE Bahamas decreasing to 2 to 4 feet later.

Friday 28th – Partly to mostly sunny, hot and humid with few passing showers or a possible isolated thunderstorm during the day. Partly cloudy to fair skies and warm with few showers at night time likely. Maximum temperature 93°F and minimum temperature 81°F. Winds SE to S at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas and E to SE at 10 to 15 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas, falling light and variable at times. Seas 2 to 4 feet across the Bahamas, falling to 1 to 3 feet at times over all areas.

Saturday 29th - Mostly sunny, hot and humid in the NW Bahamas and cloudy with few scattered showers or an isolated thunderstorm across the Central and SE Bahamas during the day. Partly cloudy to fair skies at night with few lingering showers. Maximum temperature 92°F and minimum temperature 81°F. Winds SSE to SSW at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas and SE’ly at 10 to 15 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas, falling light and variable at times over all areas. Seas 2 to 4 feet over the ocean for all areas, falling to 1 to 3 feet at times.

Sunday 30th – Partly to mostly cloudy skies with some scattered showers or isolated thunderstorm during the day through night time. Maximum temperature 93ºF and minimum temperature 81ºF. Winds variable at 10 knots or less but occasionally S to SW at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas and SE to S at 10 to 15 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 1 to 3 feet over the ocean but occasionally 2 to 4 feet over some areas.

Monday 31st – Partly to mostly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms across the Bahamas during the day through nightfall. Maximum temperature 92ºF and minimum temperature 80ºF. Winds light and variable but occasionally SW to W at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas and SE to S at 10 to 15 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 1 to 3 feet but up to 2 to 4 feet at times over the ocean.

Tuesday 01st
– Partly cloudy to cloudy with scattered showers or possible isolated thunderstorms mainly in the NW Bahamas during the day through night time. Maximum temperature 91ºF and minimum temperature 80ºF. Small craft should exercise caution across the SE Bahamas. Winds variable at 10 knots or less in the NW Bahamas; E to SE at 10 to 15 knots in the Central Bahamas and SE’ly at 15 to 20 knots in the SE Bahamas. Seas 1 to 3 feet over the NW Bahamas, 2 to 4 feet over the Central Bahamas and 4 to 7 feet over the SE Bahamas.

Wednesday 02nd – Partly cloudy to cloudy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly across the NW and Central Bahamas during the day. Partly cloudy to fair skies with few lingering showers likely. Maximum temperature 91ºF and minimum temperature 81ºF. Small craft should continue to exercise caution in the Central and the SE Bahamas. Winds SE to S at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas and E to SE at 15 to 20 knots in the Central and the SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet in the NW Bahamas and 4 to 7 feet in the Central and the SE Bahamas.

Beachgoers and Mariners should exercise extreme caution due to the high risk of rip currents and rough surf, especially along the northern and eastern shorelines during stated advisories. Winds and seas will be higher in heavy showers and thunderstorms. Boaters and beachgoers should be alert for possible waterspout activity and take all necessary precautions to protect life and property.
