A man accused of assaulting a child will be tried next month.
Wesner Myrtil, who is known as Wesner Mertil, appeared before Magistrate Samuel McKinney yesterday charged with assault.
Prosecutors allege that he bit an 18-month-old boy who was left in his care on June 17.
McKinney set Myrtil's bail at $500 with one surety.
