Many people living with Parkinson's disease will benefit from donations to support a cure as a result of RBC's annual sponsorship of the Kingdor National Parkinson Foundation. Since its inception more than five years ago, RBC has continued to support the foundation through sponsorship of its annual ball.
This year the foundation's theme, "Parkinson: The Gift of Sharing" developed with the objective of heightening awareness, sensitizing the Bahamian public, and providing support and relief for those affected by this debilitating condition.
"In line with our purpose of helping our communities, RBC is proud to support this worthy cause again this year," said Sharell Carroll, RBC manager, corporate communications, Northern Caribbean.
She said the principle of community development is a core value that both organizations share, and RBC remains committed to helping clients thrive and communities prosper.
Kingdor officials say over the years they have given funds to the National Parkinson Foundation, parent organization in the United States, to fund research and other efforts in hopes of coming one step closer to finding a cure for Parkinson's.
Kingdor has also provided funds to assist persons with neurological diseases, and has hosted caregiver's seminars, walk and run competitions, numerous gala balls, and speech and essay competitions for junior and secondary school students.
"Our team continues to make regular visits to Parkinsonians in need of assistance. We are grateful for RBC's continued corporate sponsorship and the assistance of the general public. This support is critical to advance the growth and development of our work," said Mavis Darling Hill, Kingdor chairperson.
