Little Switzerland robbed

Detectives are seeking two smash-and-grab suspects that robbed the Little Switzerland jewelry store downtown yesterday.
Police were called to the store shortly after midday after two men broke a showcase and stole jewelry, an officer attached to the Central Police Station said.
Investigators have not yet determined the value of the jewelry.
The robbers reportedly ran south onto Market Street, where an accomplice was waiting in a getaway car.
Assistant Commissioner Clayton Fernander, the head of the Central Detective Unit, said there did not appear to be a connection between this robbery and a hold-up at Crown Jewelers at the Mall at Marathon last month.
In that incident, two men posing as customers asked to view jewelry pieces and ran away once they had the items in hand, Fernander said.
In 2011, two masked men, one armed with a rifle, the other with a hammer, smashed open the showcase in John Bull's Rolex boutique on Bay street and stole 12 watches with a combined value of $395,680.
Johnathan Armbrister and David Collins were convicted of the armed robbery the following year after a six-month long trial.
Armbrister was sentenced to 25 years in prison and Collins was sentenced to 20 years. Their appeals are still pending.
