BTC has announced that it has upgraded its Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) menu. In the new upgrade, customers are now able to select Creole as a language preference.

To access this new update, customers can dial *200# where they are presented with the option to either select “one” for English or “two” for Creole.

CEO Leon Williams said, “This is another first for BTC and a first for The Bahamas. Today, we have upgraded our USSD menu to include a Creole language option. This new update is reflective of our continued quest to improve the customer experience here at BTC.

We continue to listen to the needs of our customers and respond with solutions. We value the support of the Creole community over the years. Just last year, we proudly joined hands with the Haitian community as we opened the doors to our first Creole retail store.”

Using the USSD menu, customers are able to check the balance on their account, top up their account, perform mobile to mobile top up, send a free “contact me” SMS to another customer and apply data or prepaid bundles. Now, customers have the option of doing it all in the language of their preference. .

BTC has been a fervent supporter of the Haitian community for decades. The company has sponsored many events and activities, namely Haitian Flag Day since 2002.

Additionally, last year BTC was also title sponsor to the Haiti vs. Jamaica Soccer Match, the Caribana Music Festival and the Caribbean Boxing Showdown.

BTC has made many progressive strides to improve customer service. The company continues to stay on top of international trends and standards for customer service excellence.

BTC continues to explore a myriad of options to remain current and relevant with its customers. In the last few years, BTC has introduced its online chat option, allowing customers to talk with a representative on the BTC website (www.btcbahamas.com) or on Facebook.

The company has also introduced its “Concierge” option allowing customers to schedule an appointment at a store at a time convenient to them. Through the BTC Mobile App, MyBTC, customers can check their usage, view and pay their bills online.
