The 2017 Junior Baseball League of Nassau (JBLN) 28th season of organized youth baseball is about to get underway.
Online registration for the new baseball and softball seasons started on Sunday and will run through Saturday October 8, and is available online only. The registration fees are $175 for Tee Ball, and $250 for all of the other baseball divisions. For girls softball, the fee is $150. All fees include a charge of $35 for player medical insurance.

Interested persons can register through the website www.jblnbaseball.com by clicking on forms, and then registration.

The different divisions are: Tee Ball (5-6 years), Coach Pitch (7-8 years), Minor (9-10 years), Major (11-12 years), Junior (13-15 years), Senior (25-and-Under) and Girls' Softball (12-19 years).

A group of volunteers will be available to receive payments and assist any player wishing to register online at the fields starting Saturday, September 17. All are asked to ensure that the necessary forms are completed online.

For four straight Saturdays, starting September 17, registration payments can be made at the JBLN Field of Dreams Complex in Nassau East, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first three Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on the final registration Saturday, at which time spots will be available based on space. Also on that final registration Saturday, there will be tryouts for players in the draft from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. at the complex. The draft and player selection will also be held that day, from 2-4 p.m.

The league's pre-season will be held from November 16 to December 18, and the opening day for the new season is set for January 14, 2017.

Interested persons are asked to contact league commissioner Jeff Albury at (242) 427-0841 if there are any questions.
