N'nyhn Fernander qualified for the B finals of the men's 100 meter (m) fly yesterday at the Junior Pan Pacific Championships in Maui, Hawaii. However, due to the major difference in time zones, results of the final were not available up to press time.

In the qualifier, Fernander touched the wall in 56.03 seconds, which was the 15th fastest time overall. Izaak Bastian was also in the race, but failed to qualify for the final. He finished 27th overall in 59.13 seconds.

Along with Fernander, other members of the team also competed in several of Thursday night's finals as well.

In the men's 100m free, Jared Fitzgerald finished sixth in the B final in 52.06 seconds. American Ryan Hoffer finished first in the race in 49.98 seconds. Jac Cartwright of Australia won the A Final in 49.14 seconds.

The sister duo of Margaret and Lillian Higgs finished fourth and sixth respectively in the women's 100 LC Meter breast. Margaret finished the race in 1:13.65, followed by "Lilly" in 1:14.13.

Alex Walsh of the United States won the B final in 1:09.87. American Zoe Bartel won the event overall, finishing with a time of 1:07.87 in the A final.

At the Pan Pacific Juniors, the top 16 qualifiers move on to the next round of competition, with the top eight making up the A final and the bottom eight competing in the B final.

Members of the team will be in action again today as the meet wraps up in Maui. Margaret and Lilly will compete in the women's 200m IM, Fernander and Fitzgerald will compete in the men's 50 free. The sisters will be back again in the 200 breast, while Bastian competes in the final race for team Bahamas, the men's 200 breast.
