38-year-old driver dies after Grand Bahama crash

A 38-year-old male resident of Hanna Hill, Eight Mile Rock, has died in hospital three days after being involved in a traffic accident on Grand Bahama.

Police reported on Sunday that Baretta S Bootle died of his injuries at the Rand Memorial Hospital on Friday shortly before 8pm.

Mr. Bootle was involved in a crash in the area of East Sunrise Highway near Sergeant Major Road on Tuesday shortly after 10pm.

Police said that the accident involved Mr Bootle's silver Nissan Sentra, which collided with a concrete utility pole in the centre median. The driver was extricated from his vehicle by the use of the Jaws of Life and EMS personnel transported the victim to the Rand, where he was listed in critical condition.

Investigations continue.
