Ever wanted to spend a night in one of the world’s most recognisable monuments?

For the first time ever, a handful of lucky tourists will be able to bed down in the 984-foot tall Eiffel Tower in Paris.

Holiday rental website HomeAway has offered the chance for four contestants to sleep under the Parisian stars for an evening, in a makeshift bedroom and living space on the iconic tower’s first floor.

French interior designer Benoit Leleu has been enlisted to help design the family-friendly living quarters that will include a panoramic view of the City of Lights.

The unusual stay has been given out in a company-run competition as part of HomeAway’s sponsorship of this summer's UEFA Euro cup.

The all-expense paid trip includes a round-trip airfare and three additional nights in a rental apartment in Paris, as well as one night’s stay in the landmark structure.
