It's expected to be a foot stomping, hand-clapping, raise-your-voice-in-praise kind of experience when The Region Bells, Mother Rachel Mackey, the Dynamic Singers, the BBC Singers, the Flash Lights, the Stubbs Quartet, Haston Brown, Davian Chase, Adrianna Munnings, Rashad Cunningham and Terry Stubbs-Walters perform this weekend. The singers will take to the stage during The Legacy Continues concert event.

Aldo Stubbs, the son of the singer/song-writer and original leader of The Region Bells, the late minister Leon Jehu Stubbs Sr., will stage the concert under the theme "The Legacy Continues" in his effort to keep the legacy of his dad alive.

Along with commemorating his father during the concert, Stubbs is also expected to honor Cardinal Stubbs -- The Region Bells' oldest and longest serving member singing who sang alto/tenor for 55 years. The Region Bells have been singing for 68 years.

"Generations to come will be able to recall with fond memories the legendary Region Bells. What comes to mind instantaneously is the strong rhythmic rhyming and creative storytelling," said Aldo.

"No doubt The Region Bells echo the authentic a capella sound that continues to put The Bahamas on the map through this art form. The history and the Bahamian folklore within the lines of their selections is what set this group of men apart from the rest."

The concert will take place on Sunday, May 29 at the Southland Church of God with a 7:30 p.m. start. Tickets are $10.

"Anyone who has ever attended a concert where these legends [The Region Bells] made a live experience, left with an unforgettable, heart warming experience. In honor of these outstanding men that committed to make these memories worthwhile, [I] decided they should be celebrated and commemorated," he said.
