Shanton Forbes was sentenced to eight months in prison yesterday for the indecent assault of a 19-year-old woman that was recorded and posted on Facebook.

An 18-year-old man who pleaded guilty in relation to the indecent assault of a 19-year-old woman that was recorded and posted on Facebook was yesterday sentenced to eight months in prison.

High school dropout Shanton Forbes, 18, of Graham Drive, Yellow Elder Gardens, pleaded guilty to the offenses of voyeurism and indecent assault last week,

Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans has deferred the sentencing of Forbes' co-accused, a 16-year-old high school student, to June 1 for a probation report.

According to the summary of the case read by the prosecutor, the victim was visiting a friend's home in Yellow Elder Gardens in April when the attack occurred.

The victim told police that her female friend's brother and cousins had soaked her clothing with water from a pump in front of the house and one of them recorded it on a cell phone, the court heard.

The friend told the young men to "ease up" and took her inside to change into another outfit. The woman said she was in a bathroom that did not have a door when her friend and the men entered the home.

Forbes said that he left Government High School at age 17 and since then has worked odd jobs. The 16-year-old said that he had no BJCs. He claimed he was supposed to sit five BJC exams, but his mother had not paid for them.

The 16-year-old also said that he smoked marijuana.
