Do you ever wonder who really runs the world? Pretty Brown Girl Club #14 is ready to answer that question at the club's third annual mother-daughter conference under the theme, "Who runs the world... Girls!"

This year's conference is expected to be bigger and better than ever with a life-changing workshop for busy moms by special guest presenter Latasha Johnson, the designer of the "SuperDope Planner" from Atlanta, Georgia. Johnson will be sharing secrets to life management in a special moms-only session.

The dynamic line up of presenters also includes Gayle Barrow, Sharell Carroll, Nikki Carter, Leshan Ferguson and Ramona Wells.

An amazing line up of Bahamian girls doing outstanding things in the community and their mothers are also on the schedule. The lineup includes BreAnn Ferguson, the primary school student who created BreAnn's Care Closet to assist children with clothes and school uniforms; Caden Smith, the middle school student who established the Bahamas Red Nose Day; and Ingrid Bethel, the high school student and the CEO of Addiction Bakery.

"This year's conference will be our most interactive and we have amazing surprises planned," said Anita Bain, co-leader of Pretty Brown Girl Club #14. "We're excited about our joint session for mothers and daughters featuring young women who are making a difference in the community. And we can't wait for our guests to experience the top-secret activities that we have planned as a finale. Both mothers and daughters can expect to have fun," she said.

The much-anticipated event is scheduled for Saturday, May 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the British Colonial Hilton.

Pretty Brown Girl #14 promises that the conference will also include the crowd favorites from previous years, including age-appropriate workshops for girls ages six to 16 and their mothers, prizes, conference bags and one-of-a-kind vendor shopping.

Pretty Brown Girl (www.prettybrowngirl.com) is an international organization that aims to fulfill its mission of celebrating the beautiful shades of brown all over the world while inspiring positive self-esteem and confidence in girls and young women. The popular organization was formed in Detroit, Michigan, in 2010 and quickly started to spread across the United States. Today there are more than 200 clubs in various cities in the U.S.

In March 2013, Anita Bain and Yolanda Darville brought this dynamic club to The Bahamas, becoming the first Pretty Brown Girl Club outside of the United States. Less than one year later, the Bahamian club was awarded the prestigious Club of the Year Award for its impact in the community.

Locally, Pretty Brown Girl Club #14 meets monthly to inspire and empower girls in the areas of self-esteem, confidence, leadership and celebrating the shades of brown all over the world.

The founders of Pretty Brown Girl Club #14 have a goal of making this conference available and affordable for mothers and daughters of all backgrounds.
