Man faces multiple charges including attempted murder

A 21-year-old New Providence man was charged with attempted murder, burglary, armed robbery and firearm possession in the Freeport Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

Omar Miller, of Cowpen Road, appeared before Magistrate Rengin Johnson in court three. He was required to enter a plea to the charges, which are indictable offences.

The matters were adjourned and a preliminary inquiry will be held on June 21. His trial will be held on June 27 and 28.

In other court matters, Rasmere Armbrister, 26, of Eight Mile Rock was charged with possession of a forged document.

Armbrister appeared before Magistrate Charlton Smith in court two and pleaded not guilty to the charge. He was granted $2,500 bail and the matter was adjourned to June 15 for trial.

Two women were also charged in court with obstructing justice.

Cassinel Oliver, 28, and Doreen Paul, 46, both of Frobisher Circle, appeared before Magistrate Smith.

The women pleaded not guilty to the charge and the matter was adjourned to Thursday, March 31.
