Upcoming events:

Weekday rides, east - Morning, Tuesday and Thursday leaving 5am sharp from Sea Grapes Shopping Centre, East Prince Charles Drive. This ride is a 17-mile loop to the Northbound Paradise Island Bridge and back again (Both bridges are sometimes incorporated depending on available time). Open to riders capable of 18+ mph for 1 hour. Lights are essential.

Weekday rides, west - Morning, Wednesdays and Fridays leaving 4:45am sharp from Cable Beach Police Station, West Bay St. This ride is a 20-mile loop. The route is varied. Open to riders capable of 18+mph for 1 hr. Lights are essential. Contact Shantel to confirm your attendance.

Afternoons, Tuesdays & Thursdays leaving 5:30pm sharp from Lyford Cay Gas Station Parking Lot. This ride is 18-20 miles depending on whether you choose to do a second loop. Recommended for strong riders capable of 20+mph for 1-1.5hrs. Intermediate Riders 18-22mph -see Spyda

Weekend rides - Saturdays leaving 6am sharp from Harbour Bay Shopping Centre in front of First Caribbean Bank (Starbuck’s) 30 miles headed West. In order to complete this ride it is recommended that you have done some recent cycling! Leaving P/I bridges optional at the end! The pace will range from 18–20+mph, two-hour duration.

Sundays leaving 6am sharp from Harbour Bay Shopping Centre in front of First Caribbean Bank (Starbuck’s) 40-50 miles headed East. This ride is not recommended if you have not cycled recently or first timers! P/I Bridges optional at the end! The pace will range from 18–20+mph, 3- 3.5 hour duration (cyclists are invited to join in anywhere along the route).

March 13th - NPCA team relay time trial. Start time: 8.15, start and finish at Baha Mar Boulevard. Bring your team or team up on site. Entry fee $30 per team. Whatsapp Barron on 552-5128 for more information.

Journeying Soulfully. - A journalling workshop designed for women and girls will be held tomorrow.

Journeying Soulfully will be held at the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas from 4:30pm.

The cost is $20 including light refreshments.

Organiser Alicia Wallace said: “This workshop is a safe, intimate space giving women and girls tools to reflect on and record memories, set intentions, and journal purposefully.”

Rotary Club of New Providence. - All are invited to join the Rotary Club of New Providence at its 13th Annual Horse Show and Steak Out on Saturday and Sunday at the Camperdown Horse Stables, Eastern New Providence.

There will be steak and chicken dinners at a cost of $10 on sale on the Saturday afternoon between noon and 5pm. Throughout the entire two days event there will be other snacks available; including hamburgers, hot dogs, conch fritters and snow cones. Everyone is invited to this two-days fun-filled family event, centered around an exciting Horse Show and competition.

Proceeds from the event will be used to fund the club’s community projects.

The Rotary Club of New Providence is one of the 34,000 Rotary clubs around the world and one of eight clubs in The Bahamas. Rotary is the coming together of like-minded men and women inspired to translate their passions into relevant social causes to change lives in communities. Key objectives of Rotary including leadership, integrity, diversity and fellowship are used to achieve its mission which is to provide “Service above Self”.

The Rotary Club of New Providence meets each Tuesday evening, beginning at 7pm at The Poop Deck West. It is a dinner meeting which lasts for approximately one hour. The weekly meeting agenda includes a 20 minutes period reserved for use by guest speakers invited to speak on pertinent, interesting and important matters related to the community and country generally.
