Get frequent cardiovascular exercise

It is no secret; the best thing you can do to be healthy is exercise. Regular physical activity reduces stress, lowers blood pressure, lowers bad cholesterol, raises good cholesterol, fights osteoporosis, induces weight loss, enhances sex drive, improves regularity and is a natural sleep aid. It also lowers blood sugar, reduces joint stiffness, improves mental alertness and is a mild antidepressant. Plus, when performed regularly, three to five times a week, it reduces your risk of having a heart attack or stroke.

Sound too good to be true? It's not, and it's free. Even if you're a smoker, diabetic or overweight, doing something as simple as 20 minutes of brisk walking can help. It will help bring diabetes under control, and move a person in the direction of losing weight. Remember, good health begins with you and regular exercise.

For more information about good health and to receive free blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol screenings, attend the Bahamas Heart Association Health Fair tomorrow all day at the Town Center Mall and get tested for free!
