Tasks for the month of February

February is considered one of the dormant months where the pruning of deciduous plants for shape, fruit production and the removal of damaged branches is carried out.
Vegetables: Sow beets, cabbage, cauliflower, carrots, eggplant, lettuce and a number of other vegetables. See planting guide for this month.
Flowers: You should take cuttings of coleus, geraniums and wax begonias for planting later this spring. Divide and plant summer- and fall-blooming perennials. Fertilize with a liquid fertilizer at half-strength for emerging seedlings.
