The Governor General visits Long Island

Governor General Her Excellency Dame Marguerite Pindling visited Long Island on Thursday, January 28, as part of her travel to southeastern islands devastated by Hurricane Joaquin. Earlier In the week, she visited Acklins and Crooked Island. On Thursday she saw Long Island and Rum Cay, accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Works the Hon. Philip Davis.

Photos show the Governor General and the Deputy Prime Minister visiting the Long Island Museum; meeting Ormand Simms whose home was damaged by the hurricane; greeting Mr. and Mrs. John Knowles; and sharing a few words with Melanie McIntosh, who lost her home during the passage of Hurricane Joaquin.
