Sunshine Finance is excited to sponsor JA Company SOCA: Sophisticated, Optimistic, Creative Achievers, which won a multitude of prizes at JA Day 2015 held on Saturday November 14th.

With over 10 JA Companies in attendance, S.O.C.A was  “Phe-no-me-nal” and swept the awards winning Best Overall JA Company, first place award for Most Enthusiastic Entrance and six other event awards.

The victory was sweet and sentimental for Sunshine Finance for reasons including that Junior Achievement Bahamas was founded in 1978 by its Chairman, Mr. Franklyn R. Wilson CMG.,  and its President, S. Rosel Moxey, was herself JA Most Distinguished Achiever, VP Finance and Salesperson of the Year, 2005.

Understanding the importance of business, Mr. Franklyn Wilson invited a steering committee to review the feasibility of starting Junior Achievement in The Bahamas.  37 years later, he remains committed to youth business programs and is pleased that that students  are enthusiastic and focused on having fun as they learn the ideals of starting and managing a sustainable business.

As a former Achiever, Sunshine Finance President Rosel Moxey understands how the JA years can affect students long into the future. "My time as an Achiever, and the leadership skills I developed are still in action today. Students get out of JA, what they are willing to put in and so I am thrilled to see the energy and commitment of our SOCA students.” Rosetta Munroe, Lead Advisor notes, “Our success was a full team effort; great students, past achievers and stellar support.”
