It’s official … the world-famous “Bonafide,” hand-battered chicken and “Cajun-style” seafood synonymous with Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen is capturing the hearts and appetites of fans in New Providence. After weeks of growing anticipation, the Louisiana inspired quick serve restaurant opened its doors on Tuesday, December 8 to a flood of customers.

“We are pleased to open the newest Popeyes restaurant in the Bahamas,” said Skehan, president international, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen. “We continue to build success of the Popeyes business by partnering with outstanding franchisees like Chris and Terry Tsavoussis, and we are excited to bring the delicious, Louisiana-style fare Popeyes is known for to people in The Bahamas.“

The new $2.5 Million Popeyes® restaurant is 4,000 square feet and modeled after the company’s new Zydeco-inspired, international design. Native to Louisiana, Zydeco is a colorful representation of the fusion of cultures that have influenced the region, and Popeyes’ authentic taste. The eatery’s dining room décor depicts the rich southern heritage, and vibrancy of the Louisiana region, in a stylish, contemporary setting.

The Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen Bahamas franchise is owned and operated by brothers, Chris and Terry Tsavoussis, the team behind Wendy’s & Marco’s Pizza.

“It was Popeye’s brand pillar of ‘quality’ and the strength of the brand’s strategic growth plan that first caught our interest. The company has an uncompromising approach to delivering excellence in operations and customer service; with that kind of focus and commitment on both a local and international level, we are very optimistic about the brand’s performance,” said Chris Tsavoussis.

“Customers will find the Louisiana-style of seasoning and cooking to be extremely palatable and similar to our own. Popeyes takes the concept of perfecting the flavor of every aspect of a meal to a whole new level. As business people and operators we immediately recognized this as a huge upsell that would delight and build loyalty with our consumers,” said Terry Tsavoussis.

They promise that customers can look forward to the boundless flavor of 12-hour, pre-marinated southern-fried spicy and mild chicken, succulent popcorn shrimp, and hearty favorites like red beans and rice and mac n’ Cheese. Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen will not only deliver a savory, one-stop dining experience, but unbeatable value and exceptional customer-centric service.

It is anticipated that the brand will grow to at least three stores over the next three years.

“From all indicators, it’s gearing up to be a very competitive and robust brand in our market and region,” said Randy Sands, vice-president of operations. “As local representatives of Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, this is an extremely exciting time. We’re part of corporate’s strategic plan to spark new growth in the international market, where there are currently 500 stores in 27 countries and only a handful sporting this new design,” said Yolanda Pawar-Bain, marketing manager.

An official day of celebration is planned for mid January to fully celebrate the brands’ successful launch in The Bahamas.
