Man shot dead after leaving barber shop

A man, 23, was shot dead in Nassau Village yesterday, police reported. He was returning home on Alexandria Boulevard from a barber shop around 9:30 a.m. when several men in a blue Hyundai Elantra pulled up alongside him and shot him several times, police said. The man was lying on the ground in a pool of blood when The Nassau Guardian arrived on the scene.

The incident marks the 112th murder for 2015. There were 88 murders at this time last year. This represents a 27 percent increase in murders.

Police also reported that a man's decomposed body was found in bushes on Inagua on Saturday. The death has not been classified. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

There were also two separate shootings and a stabbing on Saturday, according to police. Police said around 2 a.m. an argument between a man and woman on Carmichael Road resulted in the man being stabbed.

Police also said that a man shot another man following an argument at a nightclub on Faith Avenue around 2 a.m. His condition was listed as stable in hospital, according to police.

Around 3 a.m., a man sitting inside his car outside a nightclub on Mackey Street was shot by a man in a black Maxima. The victim was in stable condition in hospital, police said.
