A 38-year-old visitor to The Bahamas drowned in waters off Castaway Cay in The Abacos on Thursday, police reported yesterday.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Stephen Dean said the man, who had not been identified, was visiting from New York on a Disney cruise ship. While the ship was moored, he went swimming and was found unconscious in the water around 4 p.m., according to police.

Dean said an autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
