A barber was found shot dead in his bedroom on Saturday night, police said. They believe he was struck by a stray bullet.
Police said shortly before 7 p.m. they responded to reports that a man was shot at a residence on Eneas Street, off Poinciana Drive.

The man, 45, who is believed to be Haitian, was found with a gunshot wound to the head, police said. Chief Superintendent Paul Rolle said the man ran a barbershop at his home. Police said residents witnessed a shooting in the area around 2 a.m.

"One of those bullets went through the northern bedroom window where it struck the victim," said Chief Superintendent Paul Rolle, head of the Central Detective Unit.

When neighbors noticed that he had not opened the shop all day and was not answering his phone, which could be heard ringing, they forced their way into the house and found him dead in his bedroom. Up to yesterday, no one had been arrested in connection to that shooting.

There have been nine murders recorded in the country for the year.
