Murder accused asks court to remove ankle bracelet

A man on bail for murder claimed that his landlord evicted his family after learning that he was fitted with an ankle bracelet.

Lathario Miller told Justice Bernard Turner that staff from the monitoring center called his device at odd times. He said he lost jobs after his employers learned that he was on bail. Miller said he was not considered for employment when he disclosed he was on bail. For these reasons, Miller wants the court to order the removal of the device. Turner will hear the application for a variation of the conditions of his bail on February 4.

Miller is charged with the 2010 murder of Marco Smith.
