No subject matter will be off limits -- politics, power, intimacy, race, class, mistrust and
betrayal will all be up for discussion when the Caribbean's King of Comedy Oliver Samuels brings his blockbuster hit "Dolly House" to The Bahamas in October.
The hilarious Jamaican comedy will be full of belly-cramping humor that only Oliver can produce and will be a celebration of his 65th birthday.
"Dolly House" will feature taboo topics such as interracial relationships in Jamaica, the effects of miscarriage on Jamaican women, cyber sex, lotto scamming and police perverting the course of justice in the manner that only Oliver Samuels can -- tastefully, family friendly but extremely humorous with life lessons that will leave the audience talking about the show and the story lines for a very long time.
"Dolly House", which opened on Mother's Day, is on tour of all major markets. The production will be held in The Bahamas on the holiday weekend on Sunday, October 12 at the Rainforest Theatre on Cable Beach.
"We expect a sold out event at the Crystal Palace Rainforest Theatre, especially as this is a special birthday year for Oliver," said Kathy Ingraham Maciel of Capital City Marketing.
Oliver has assembled the most powerful cast available in Caribbean theater today for another one of his blockbusters. And many people had speculated as to how Oliver would be able to follow up successive monster hits like "Who A Di Don?" and "Embassy Saga".
Previous Oliver performances that took to the stage in The Bahamas in the past included "Sheep in Wolf's Clothing" in 2009, "Assistant Thief" in 2006 and "Ras Noah & the Hawk" in 2005 as well as "Guava Jelly" in 2004.
