The deadline for the BHS Summer Fun Photography Contest sponsored by Mr. Photo and BahamasLocal is fast approaching! Have you taken your photos yet?

Entries are due by close of business on Friday, September 12th.

Prizes will be awarded Thursday, September 25th at 6 p.m. at Green Parrot Harbourfront Lounge. All entries must have an entry form on the back. The entry fee is $10 per photo. Please see attached form for further details.

We have had some amazing entries in the past years and are sure to see many more again. We have some pretty amazing prizes for the winners, too! Pull out your cameras and start snapping!

From now until September 7th, the BHS is running two cat & kitten adoption specials.

All cats/kittens are $15.00 each - and -

if you adopt one, you can adopt a second one free!

If you've been thinking of adding a feline companion (or two or more) to your home, now is a great time to do so! New adoption hours are:

Mon/Tues/Wed/Friday - 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Thursday - 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Saturday - 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sunday - 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Photos of many of our adoption cats & kittens can be seen here (click!).

We have had a consistently strong turnout for our distemper vaccine clinics.

In order to assist those less fortunate and their dogs, the next two clinics will be held on: Tuesday, August 26th at Our Lady's Catholic Church on Deveaux Street off East Street, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Wednesday, August 27th in the BHS parking lot from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Please note the hours have changed for the BHS Thrift Shop. The new hours are: Thursday and Friday - 12 noon to 4 p.m.

Saturday - 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

We welcome all donations! Funds raise help support the BHS in all its endeavours.

*** The BHS Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 17th, at 6:30 p.m. at the BHS. All BHS members are encouraged to attend. We hope to see you there!
