As the collegiate basketball season hits full stride, a pair of Bahamian freshmen squared off in an NCAA Division I matchup.

With a late rally, Mikhail McLean and his Houston Cougars protected home court and topped Scottie Farrington and the Louisiana Lafayette Rajin Cajuns 75-68 last night at Hofeinz Pavilion in Houston, Texas.

Both players saw very limited minutes as the Cougars improved to 5-1, while the Cajuns dropped to 2-4.

Farrington received the bulk of the playing time between the two, but scored just three points and fouled out in nine minutes of play.
