Obie sells newspapers

Dear Editor
I was amused and saddened reading your coverage of Tourism Minister Obie Wilchcombe's attack on the press for reporting on A. Loftus Roker's comments about the Christie government's performance.
Let me get this straight: Here is an ex-reporter and a politician (Wilchcombe) creating a fight (with the media), about the media creating a fight between two politicians.
Hello? Has Wilchcombe lost his mind? He does himself a grave disservice. If he disagrees with Roker, let him confine his comments to that.
How can he claim the media is in any way responsible for Roker's remarks? Surely it is Roker who is creating the fight and, if so, why shouldn't the press cover it? Yes, Roker's remarks are sensational and, yes, that coverage does sell newspapers (I bought The Guardian because of it).
So thanks, Obie. Thanks for making your sworn enemy richer and keeping the titillating news on the front covers for another day! You're one of the greatest newspaper salesmen the press is fortunate to have.
