I am a politician--I've got the gift of gab
Now when I die I will be laid out on a slab
They'll sing my praises and pay me accolades
All for the contributions that I may have made.

In the halls of parliament, I sit and bang my table
All the kids at home, they can see me on the cable
I don't really care how childish it may look
I'm a politician and I've got a big fat bank book.

I sit in the cabinet and make some big decisions
Some may affect the way that you may be living
I am immune to it all because I am a politician
Getting as much as I can is my one and only mission.
