I've noted in several other articles recently, the tremendous success of Mark Burnett, of Mark Burnett Productions who presently have some five top rated productions airing on TV around the world, "Celebrity Apprentice," "The Voice," "The Boss," "Survivor" and "Shark Tank", and they're also working on their first non-reality show based on the Bible. In an interview on the program "Mansbridge One on One" on CBC with host Peter Mansbridge, Peter asked him the following question, he said to Mark Burnett "All of your previous shows have been reality shows, are you at all nervous about doing a drama, a scripted show like The Bible?"

Mark said he wasn't, as the story and the script were so great, and he had this strong inner urge to produce the series. He also added, to succeed in life you've got to have the courage to fail -- yes indeed, you must! Let's face it, when we commence any project, no matter how positive and upbeat we may be, and indeed should be about its ultimate outcome and success, nevertheless, we realize that there is always the possibility that things will not work out exactly as we had envisioned they would.

But my friend, surely it's a whole lot better to attempt to succeed at a whole lot of projects and to fail at a few, whilst the majority of the projects are very successful, than to allow oneself to literally be crippled by the fear of failure, and thus not be prepared to take any risks at all, thus not accomplishing anything worthwhile in life. Yes indeed, there's no doubt about it my friend, if you wish to succeed in life, as Mark Burnett put it, you've gotta have the courage to fail. Now of course, I need to state quite clearly right here, that when we commence any project, we do so with a totally positive attitude fully expecting it to be successful.

But, at the same time, if for some reason we temporarily fail, we simply regroup, and start out again, perhaps with a whole new approach which will finally bring the project to a very successful conclusion. As that well known saying puts it, you win some -- you lose some. So, in conclusion, always have the courage of your convictions, or as Mark Burnett put it, have the courage to fail, and believe me, your courage, your faith will indeed ensure your future success.
