Featuring authentically Grand Bahamian culture with special emphasis on cuisine and century's old social traditions the Coconut Festival, celebrating its 15th year, is a homecoming event for the otherwise tranquil, picturesque settlement of Pelican Point.

Highlights of the event will include fun games and activities such as coconut shell crafts, other souvenirs (such as jams, soap, candles etc.), coconut eating and barking contests, and live performances by one of the newest Bahamian sensations, Dillon 'D-Mac' McKenzie, the man behind the hit song/riddim "The Gaulin".

The Pelican Point community, comprised of less than one hundred residents, is situated approximately 40 miles east of Freeport town centre / 20 miles east of Freeport city limits, and remains populated by descendants of the original residents to this day.
