Police yesterday identified two men believed to have information on three of the country's murders this year.
Police issued an all points bulletin (APB) for Earnest Forrest, 32, of Ida Street and Zhivargo Saunders, 25, of Kennedy Subdivision.
Police want to question Forrest in connection with the country's first and second murders. Investigators believe that Forrest may have information on the shooting deaths of Dwayne Lloyd, of Penny Savings Lane and Andrew Sturrup, whose address was not provided.
The men were shot outside a Union Village home on January 5.
According to reports received by police, the men were sitting on the side of the residence shortly after midnight when they were approached by a man armed with a handgun who shot them multiple times and fled on foot.
One of the men was pronounced dead on the scene, police said.
Emergency medical services personnel transported the other victim to hospital where he died a short time later.
Police also want to question Zhivargo Saunders in relation to the murder of Dustin Culmer, who was shot on January 29.
According to police reports, the 23-year-old victim was chased in Kennedy Subdivision before he was shot in the street.
Police said it is believed that Culmer was involved in an ongoing feud with a number of people which resulted in the confrontation that led to his death.
Culmer was shot several times in the upper body, police said.
He died in front of a house off Zinna Street.
So far this year there have been 17 murders. This same time last year the murder count stood at 25.
Police have also closed a number of murder cases this year.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the two men is asked to contact police at 919, 322-3333, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers at 328-TIPS.
Police are also encouraging people who may have information on any other murder to contact authorities.
