U.S. Coast Guard to Support Abaco's First Annual Special Olympics Torch Run

On Saturday, May 12,
Abaco's first annual Special Olympics Torch Run will be held in Marsh
Harbour with a 9 a.m. start.  The six mile route will begin at the
airport roundabout and end at the park at the Abaco Central High
School.  The U.S. Embassy is lending its support to the event,
represented by LTJG Karin Evelyn of the U.S. Coast Guard who will lead
off the first leg of the law enforcement relay, taking the Special
Olympics torch for the first two miles of the route through the streets
of downtown, Marsh Harbour, Abaco.

The inaugural torch run race
is expected to attract eighty participants including law enforcement
officers from the Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBPF), the Royal Bahamas
Defence Force (RBDF), representatives from the business community...
