Dear Editor,
Following a discussion recently, with my friend, Philip Burrows, about the fact that the arts and we Bahamian artists do not seem at all to be on the minds of politicians of any party - or to factor into the goings on leading to elections - the thought that has just occurred to me is that in no one's mind are we a body within the larger body politic. We are not a community.
It has always been my desire that Bahamian artists - in fact, artists the world over - should love and support each other. Instead of a family, the bonds among us are often, dishearteningly, so very weak. It is easy therefore for us to be ignored, treated as if we did not even exist.
