A police corporal accused of having sex with a minor learned his arraignment date in the Supreme Court yesterday.
Jayson Clifford Cambridge, 44, is accused of having unlawful intercourse with a person under the age of 14 in July 2010.
Cambridge was arraigned on the charge on June 20.  At the time, prosecutors projected that a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI) would be prepared by August 4.
However, the matter was adjourned on two occasions before the VBI, which is designed to fast-track the trial process, was ready.
Cambridge's lawyer, Romona Farquharson, received the witness statements on which prosecutors intend to rely yesterday.
Cambridge was informed that he would be arraigned before Senior Supreme Court Justice Jon Isaacs on January 13, 2012.
He remains on $$8,000 bail with two sureties.
