THE Bahamas Electricity Corporation is likely to take a "$4-$5 million hit" from Hurricane Irene-related repairs and damage, Tribune Business was told yesterday, a sum set to take a significant chunk out of its projected $7 million profit for this financial year.
Michael Moss, BEC's chairman, said those figures represented the best estimate at this point, with the Corporation still "crunching the numbers" and likely to come up with a final figure by Friday.
