This weekend, Acklins will come alive with the annual Regatta and Homecoming held over the August Monday holiday weekend.

As usual politicians from both parties, FNMs and PLPs, will show their support and engage in subtle campaigning in preparation for the 2012 general election.

Beyond the politics, many Acklins Islanders and friends will converge on the island by the hundreds to pay homage and have a fun time away from the hustle and bustle of the big city life in Nassau.

This year's event promises to be the biggest ever. This surge in attendance is largely due to the ongoing construction of a highway by Stanley Bethell of Bethell's Trucking.
