GGYA gets aggressive in recruitment drive

Nassau, Bahamas - Enrollment figures in the Governor General's Youth Awards are up. However, that's not stopping the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture from wanting to see the programme almost double the amount of its 1,500 participants. "Eight thousand persons have passed through the program in 24 years," said the Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, Charles Maynard. "We now want to see if we can attract 8,000 people in the period of three years." The GGYA is a member of The International Award Association. Once participants have successfully completed community service engagements, mastered new skills, participated in physical activities and hiking expeditions, they are eligible for a Bronze, Silver or Gold Award...
