FREEPORT, Grand Bahama - A jury found Marcus Bailey not guilty Friday of the 2009 armed robbery of Julius Lewis, proprietor of Doc’s Conch Stand.
The six-man, three-woman panel brought back the unanimous verdict on all three counts early that afternoon and by 2:00 p.m., Bailey was a free man.
The 33-year-old father of two was on trial in the Supreme Court before Acting Justice Hartman Longley for the Sunday, December 20, 2009 incident and facing armed robbery, possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition.
He was represented by Attorney Carlson Shurland and Attorneys Vernal Collie and Erica Kemp acted on behalf of The Crown.
