A 20-YEAR-OLD man was arrested after allegedly hijacking and crashing a vehicle on Friday afternoon.

The incident unfolded after 5pm in Prospect Ridge, south of Goodman's Bay Beach.

Officers from the Western Division were on patrol when they observed a man with items in his possession, which were suspected to have been stolen.

Officers attempted to stop the man who dropped the items and fled.

They pursued the suspect on foot onto West Bay Street where he allegedly hijacked a passing vehicle.

The driver was removed from the car while his three passengers - two men and a teenaged girl remained inside.

Officers pursued the vehicle and eventually caught up with it after the suspect crashed ...
