Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC) Chairman Julian Francis yesterday expressed confidence that the deal to sell a majority stake of the company to Cable and Wireless Communications (CWC) will be closed by the end of the week.
Late yesterday, Francis confirmed that meetings were ongoing and the sale had not yet been concluded.
April 4 had been set as the target date for the takeover, however parties involved have stressed that it was never a date set in stone.
The parties were trying to work out an issue relating to the Grand Bahama Port Authority (GBPA) and licensing fees for the privatized BTC.
