THE second Hall of Fame induction ceremony for the Bahamas Boxing Commission has been planned for Friday, July 1 at Super Clubs Breezes.

Chairman Pat Strachan has announced that Bertram 'Bert Perry' Perigord was selected in the Open Category. He joins Yama Bahama, Gomeo Brennan and Elisha Obed who were selected as the class of 2009.

This year the commission decided to establish a Veterans Category. Boxers who competed, and others of the ring family who participated as promoters, managers, or trainers during the 1950s and before are eligible.

In that regard, Wilfred 'Battling' Douglas has become the first veteran boxing icon to be honored.
