Woman charged with perjury

FREEPORT - A woman who gave evidence at a recent murder trial in the Supreme Court was charged with perjury in the Freeport Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Belinda Young was arraigned in Court Two before Magistrate Andrew Forbes. She was not required to enter a plea to the charge.

She was not represented by counsel and elected to stand trial in the Supreme Court.

On March 9, Young was a key witness for the prosecution in the murder trial of her ex-boyfriend Troy Stephen Williams Jr, who was charged with the murder of 42-year-old Stanley McDonald Butterfield.
