The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture held a press conference at the Cultural Village Arawak Cay on Monday, November 21, to distribute seed funding to schools participating in the upcoming Junior Junkanoo parade.

Held in conjunction with its sponsors Sol (formerly ESSO) and Vita Malt, the Ministry’s press conference took place at this year’s site for the parade, which is scheduled for Saturday, December 17 at 3:00 p.m.

Pre-Schools received $1,500; primary schools $2,500; junior high schools $3,000; and senior high schools $4,000.

Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture the Hon. Dr. Danny Johnson thanked sponsors for their usual support, and encouraged participating schools to do their best.
