NASSAU, Bahamas - A 41-year-old man claimed by police to be an "habitual" home invader was turned in by his mother last Friday, police Superintendent Stephen Dean confirmed to The Tribune.

Having been accused of terrorizing the eastern end of New Providence for months, Superintendent Dean said that 41-year-old Clifford Miller has been a person of interest for the police for some time now.

Miller has been interrogated by officers from the Central Detective Unit (CDU) and is believed to be responsible for a number of home invasions, burglaries, armed robberies, and most famously the home invasion and robbery of Super Value owner Rupert Roberts.

"We know he was involved in a number of home invasion in the eastern area of New Providence," Superintendent Dean said. "In a number of cases we noticed that a number of business persons were being the targets of these home invasions."

As things developed, Mr Dean said the police became more aware of Miller's alleged modus operandi, as it was claimed that he often broke into a person's home and waited for them to return to rob them.

In one or two cases, the alleged robber is said to have held persons at knife point and forced them to drive to an ATM to withdraw money. In addition, Miller is alleged to have stolen a number of vehicles -- all of which Superintendent Dean said have now been recovered.
