Inspiration plus perspiration

Today's title is indeed a most simple one -- inspiration plus perspiration, and yet it does contain an extremely important message for all would be achievers. I do believe that at some point in our respective lives, we are all inspired to do something great with our life. However, not everyone pursues their dream and thus achieves something wonderful with their life. So D. Paul, why do you think this is? Why do a small percentage of those who have big dreams, actually achieve what they were initially inspired to do?

Good question my friend, and of course there are many different things that contribute to a person not being able to bring their dreams, their goals to fruition in a timely manner. However, what I want to focus in on here today is the fact, that one of the main reasons why an awful lot of extremely talented people who have indeed been inspired to do great things in life, but who do not succeed in the end, is due primarily to laziness and a complete lack of that most important ingredient which simply must be a part of any success formula, namely self-discipline.

That's right, it's one thing to be inspired to do great things in life and thus set some wonderful and exciting goals for yourself; however, once the dreaming and the planning have been completed, then the journey really begins to unfold as a person self-disciplines themself and thus daily does the work necessary to bring the goals to fruition. This is where the perspiration comes in.

Yes my friend, the first stepping stone, so to speak on the proverbial road to success is being inspired, thus setting goals and subsequently detailed plans to complete these objectives in a definite time frame. However, as we all know, a whole lot of perspiration and real hard work is required to bring the goals to fruition. Without this, success will continually evade a person, leaving them very frustrated with their broken dreams. Yes indeed, what it really takes to succeed is most definitely inspiration plus perspiration.
